Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect when you use Deep Connections, how we use it, and your rights over it. We collect only what we need to make the app work.

1. Who We Are

Deep Connections is an independent mobile application available on iOS and Android. We operate at deepconnections.app. For privacy questions, contact us at support@deepconnections.app.

2. Age Requirements

Deep Connections is rated 17+ on the Apple App Store and Mature 17+ on Google Play. You must be at least 17 years old to use the app.

The Couple Flames mode is restricted to users aged 18 and over. An in-app age confirmation is required before accessing this mode. We do not knowingly collect data from users who do not meet these age requirements. If you believe an underage user has created an account, contact us at support@deepconnections.app and we will delete the account.

3. What Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the app.

Account Information

• Email address if you create an account
• Anonymous user ID if you use the app without an account
• Authentication method (email or anonymous)

Usage Data

• Which modes you use and how often
• Session length and completion rates
• Onboarding survey responses (relationship status, age group, use case)
• In-app purchase history and subscription status
• Notification preferences and interaction data
• Age gate confirmation for Couple Flames mode

Device Information

• Device type and operating system
• App version
• Crash reports and error logs

Multiplayer Data

• Room codes generated or joined
• Session activity within shared rooms
• Room sessions are temporary and deleted after completion

4. How We Use Your Data

• To operate and deliver the app and its features
• To process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions
• To send push notifications (only with your permission)
• To identify and fix crashes and technical issues
• To understand how features are used and improve the product
• To personalise your experience based on onboarding survey responses
• To apply A/B testing to improve onboarding and feature discovery
• To enforce age requirements for restricted content

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

5. Third Party Services

Deep Connections uses the following trusted third-party services to operate:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, real-time database, and analytics. Firebase Privacy
• RevenueCat — in-app purchase and subscription management. RevenueCat Privacy
• Sentry — crash reporting and error monitoring. Sentry Privacy
• Apple App Store — iOS distribution and payment processing. Apple Privacy
• Google Play Store — Android distribution and payment processing. Google Privacy

We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Firebase infrastructure hosted on Google Cloud servers. We apply industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls.

Anonymous session data and multiplayer room data is temporary and automatically deleted after sessions end. Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.

7. Push Notifications

We send push notifications to remind you to use the app, invite you to sessions, and share conversation prompts. You can opt out at any time through your device settings or within the app settings.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

9. Children and Minors

Deep Connections is rated 17+ and is not intended for users under 17. The Couple Flames mode is restricted to users 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone below the applicable age threshold. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

10. International Users

Deep Connections is operated from within the European Union. If you are accessing the app from outside the EU, your data may be transferred to and processed in the EU and in countries where our third-party services operate, including the United States. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.

11. GDPR and CCPA

If you are located in the European Union, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data. Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interest and contract performance.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what data we collect and the right to request deletion.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do. For significant changes we will notify you via the app or email. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
